Breather privacy policy
Breather is an iPhone and iPad app from NEQTUS Games that helps you free up storage: it finds duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, large videos and files, duplicate contacts, old calendar events and reminders and more; it can compress photos and videos, search your photos by what is in them, and keep private photos in a locked space. It has no account and no advertising, and it does not track you. Everything it finds, it finds on your device. This policy explains what stays on your device and what reaches another service, and when.
Photos and videos
With your permission, Breather reads your photo library on your device to sort it into cleanup categories. Duplicates are found by comparing the files themselves; similar, blurry and document photos, the best shot of a group (including whether eyes are open and how clear the faces are) and the labels used by the library search are worked out with Apple’s on-device image analysis. Photos and videos are never uploaded. The app keeps a cache of what it learned about each item (for example a short fingerprint, a sharpness value, face measurements as numbers, search labels such as “dog” or “receipt”, and the file size) in its own container so later scans only look at new items; it is deleted with the app.
Nothing is deleted without your confirmation. When you delete, iOS asks you to confirm and keeps the items in Photos’ Recently Deleted album for 30 days. Compressed videos and photos and photos converted from Live Photos are saved to your library as new items with their date and location; the originals are removed only when you choose to remove them. If an item is stored only in iCloud, iOS may download it from Apple when you open it in the app.
Chat apps, other apps and files
The chat apps category lists photos and videos that apps such as WhatsApp or Telegram saved into albums in your photo library; Breather reads only those albums’ names and contents on your device. iOS keeps every app’s own storage private, so Breather cannot read or delete media inside other apps. The storage guides only show steps and can open another app on your request.
The file cleaner reads only the folder you pick in the Files app, and its subfolders, to list large files and identical copies. Copies are confirmed by comparing file contents on your device. Files that are only in iCloud Drive are listed with their size but are never downloaded. To let you scan the same folder again, the app keeps a reference to that folder on your device. Files are deleted only after you confirm.
Contacts, calendar and reminders
With your permission, Breather reads your contacts on your device to find duplicates and incomplete entries. Before it merges or deletes contacts, it saves a backup of them in the app’s container on your device, which you can restore or delete in the app.
Calendar and reminders cleanup ask for full access only when you open them. They read past events, completed reminders and copies on your device, write an .ics backup of what you choose to the app’s container, and delete those items only after you confirm. Contacts, events and reminders are never uploaded; if they are stored in iCloud, iOS applies your deletions there as well.
Secret Space
Photos and videos you move into Secret Space, or take with its camera, are written into the app’s container with iOS data protection, are excluded from iCloud and device backups, and stay only on this device; what you shoot there is never saved to your photo library. The camera and microphone are used only while you take a photo or video in Secret Space. Your PIN is stored as a salted hash in the Keychain; Face ID is handled by iOS and Breather never receives your biometric data. Deleting the app deletes Secret Space.
Gmail (only if you connect it)
Where available, you can connect a Gmail account to sort and clear your inbox. Signing in happens on Google’s own page and Google asks for your consent. Breather then talks to the Gmail API directly from your device to list and read messages so it can group them by sender and category, to move the messages you choose to the trash (it never deletes mail permanently), to unsubscribe and to create filters when you ask. Message data is processed on your device and is not stored on or sent to any server of ours or anyone else’s. The sign-in tokens are kept in the Keychain; disconnecting in the app, or removing Breather at myaccount.google.com/connections, revokes access.
Breather’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, do not sell it, do not let people read it, and do not use it to train AI models.
Widgets, notifications, controls and iCloud
Widgets show a summary of the last scan (counts and sizes), your storage figures and your cleanup streak, shared between the app and its widgets on your device. Reminders, such as a trial reminder, a storage reminder or memories from this day, are scheduled by iOS on your device and are not sent from a server. Shortcuts, Control Center controls and the charging animation run on your device.
If you use iCloud, your cleanup streak days and your weekly goal are kept in your own iCloud key-value storage so they match on your devices. This is Apple’s service under your Apple Account; we cannot see it.
Purchases
Breather Pro is sold through the App Store as an auto-renewable subscription or a one-time purchase. Apple processes payments; we never receive payment-card details. The app checks your purchases with Apple’s StoreKit on your device.
To manage subscriptions, test which plans to show and measure Apple Ads campaigns, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID that is not linked to your name or Apple Account, your App Store purchase and subscription records, which paywall was shown, basic device and app details such as the iOS version, app version and App Store country, and, if you installed Breather from an Apple Ads campaign, Apple’s attribution token for that campaign. None of this is used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
No account, advertising or tracking
Breather has no account and no server of ours that receives your data. It contains no advertising, no crash-reporting SDK and no tracking, does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not sell personal information. Apple’s optional diagnostic sharing follows your device settings.
Retention, deletion and your rights
Everything Breather stores on your device, including its cache, contact, calendar and reminder backups, Secret Space and settings, stays in the app’s container until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app; Keychain items can remain until iOS removes them. You can turn off photo, contacts, calendar, reminders, camera and notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings. RevenueCat keeps purchase records for as long as needed to provide the subscription and meet legal obligations.
If you contact us for support, we use your email address and the information you provide to respond. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the request, handle follow-up issues or meet applicable legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us to make a request. Breather is not directed to children.
Service providers and changes
Apple provides the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud and the system features Breather relies on; RevenueCat processes purchase records for us; Google provides Gmail only if you connect it. Each follows its own privacy policy, linked below. Changes to this policy will be published here with an updated date.
